Situated in Stavanger. Married to double bass player Bjørn Fredrik Nilssen with whom she has two sons (born 2006 and 2008).About ElinElin Aase lives in Stavanger wherefrom she freelances as a classical singer. She's the founder of Stavanger Baroque which she runs on a generous yearly financial support from the City of Stavanger. As a soloist Elin has sung with ensembles and orchestras such as Sounds from the Cathedral (Stavanger Symphony Orchestra lead by Siirka-Liisa Kakkinen Pilch), Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra (Young Talents Concert 2003), Borg Bach Choir & Barokkanerne, Kongsberg Kantori , Bardu Barokk in addition to several assignments with Capella Svithuniensis & Stavanger Cathedral Choirs. She's done lots of different chamber music projects including collaboration with Norwegan Cornett & Sackbutts. In 2002 she sang the titelrole of Cecchina in the opera «La buona figlula, La Cecchina» by Niccolo Piccini in a co-production between Schola Cantorum Basiliensis and Teater Basel (Conductor:Georgio Paronuzzi Director: Carlos Harmuch). She also sang the Sorceress in Dido & Aenes (Purcell) directed by Evelyn Tubb at Schola Cantorum Basiliensis 2003. Elin Aase also enjoys singing in choirs and vocal ensembles. She was a member of the World Youth Choir in 1998 and 1999 then conducted by Gary Graden, André Thomas and Frieder Bernius. With Bernius WYC recorded Choir Concerto by Schnittke in which Elin sang one of the soprano solos. Elin has also sung with the Chamber Choir «World Voices» in Basel (2000) and Spain (2001). During May 2005 I sang Mahlers 5th and «the Glas Menagerie « (Thommessen) with the KorVest and Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra at the Bergen Festival.
